Understanding fees and commissions
Full breakdown of NoCode.shop fees and gateway fees (Stripe, GoCardless). Real examples of total cost per transaction based on your plan.
Two distinct layers of fees
Every payment on NoCode.shop involves two fee types:
- NoCode.shop transaction fees: a percentage charged by NoCode.shop based on your plan.
- Gateway fees: fees charged by Stripe or GoCardless for processing the payment.
These are independent. NoCode.shop doesn’t touch gateway fees, and Stripe/GoCardless doesn’t touch NoCode.shop fees.
NoCode.shop transaction fees by plan
Here are the transaction fees by plan:
| Plan | Monthly subscription | Transaction fee |
|---|---|---|
| Freemium | Free | 8% |
| Basic | €33/month | 0% |
| Pro | €75/month | 0% |
Simple: stay on Freemium with 8% fees, or switch to a paid plan and keep 100% of your sales (minus Stripe/GoCardless fees).
Gateway fees (Stripe and GoCardless)
Stripe: ~1.5% + €0.25 per transaction for European cards. Non-European cards or Amex may cost more. Check stripe.com/pricing for full details.
GoCardless: fees depend on your GoCardless plan. Usually cheaper than card fees for SEPA direct debits. Check gocardless.com/pricing.
Real example: cost of a €100 payment
Total cost for a €100 European card payment:
| Plan | NoCode.shop fee | Stripe fee | Total cost | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Freemium | €8.00 | ~€1.75 | ~€9.75 | ~€90.25 |
| Basic | €0.00 | ~€1.75 | ~€1.75 | ~€98.25 |
| Pro | €0.00 | ~€1.75 | ~€1.75 | ~€98.25 |
Stripe fees (~1.5% + €0.25) apply regardless of your NoCode.shop plan.
When to upgrade to a paid plan
The math is straightforward: once your monthly transaction fees exceed the subscription cost, staying on Freemium is burning money.
The Freemium → Basic break-even: ~€412/month in sales. At that volume, 8% fees = ~€33, which is the Basic price. Beyond that, every euro sold costs you 8 cents too many. Switching to Basic (€33/month, 0% fees) pays for itself immediately.
