Suspend and resume a subscription

Temporarily pause a subscription on NoCode.shop and reactivate whenever you want. Impact on billing, access, and portal.

When to suspend

Suspension is a temporary pause that stops billing without killing the subscription. Use it when:

  • Customer request — they want a break (vacation, tight budget)
  • Payment issues — payment method declined multiple times
  • Courtesy — offering a free period by temporarily pausing

How to suspend

To suspend a subscription:

  1. Open the order detail from Orders
  2. Click Actions → Suspend subscription
  3. Confirm

An email auto-fires to the customer. Status flips to Suspended.

What suspension does

When a subscription is suspended:

  • Future renewals are blocked — no billing happens
  • Customer keeps access until the end of the already-paid period
  • You can reactivate anytime

Suspension doesn’t delete the sub or its data. Payment history stays intact.

How to reactivate

To reactivate a suspended subscription:

  1. Open the suspended order detail
  2. Click Actions → Reactivate subscription
  3. Confirm

Reactivation may trigger a new invoice if the customer is in a new billing period. They get a notification email.

Status goes back to Running and auto-renewals resume.

Customer-initiated suspension

By default, only you can suspend a subscription. Want your subscribers to manage pause/resume from their portal? Check the subscription options in Settings → Options.

FAQ

Does a suspended subscription cost the customer anything?
Nope. Zero billing during suspension. The customer pays nothing until it’s reactivated.
Is reactivation immediate?
Takes effect within 2 minutes. If the customer is in a new billing period, an invoice may be generated right away.
