Terminate a subscription

Terminate a subscription on NoCode.shop: immediate or end-of-period, impact on access, and self-termination option.

Immediate termination

To terminate a subscription right now:

  1. Open the order detail from Orders
  2. Click Actions → Terminate subscription
  3. Confirm

Takes effect within 2 minutes. Status flips to Terminated, no future billing, customer loses access immediately.

Termination at renewal

Want the customer to keep access until the end of their paid period? Use Actions → Terminate subscription at renewal.

Status moves to Ending at next term. Customer keeps access, billing auto-stops at the next renewal date. Then it flips to Terminated.

This is the most common option — it respects what the customer already paid for.

What termination means

Once terminated, a subscription is permanently done:

  • No future billing
  • Customer loses product access (immediately or at term)
  • Order and payment history stays accessible
  • Order can be archived to keep your list clean

Important: termination is irreversible. You can’t reactivate a terminated sub. If the customer wants back in, create a new order.

Customer self-termination

You can let subscribers terminate from their portal. Configure it in Settings → Options → Subscription Termination Button.

  • Enabled — the "Terminate" button shows in the subscriber’s portal
  • Disabled — customer has to contact you

Enabling this is better UX and cuts support requests. But it might bump your churn rate.

FAQ

Can a terminated subscription be reactivated?
No. Termination is permanent. To bring them back, create a new order. If you just want a pause, use suspension instead.
Does the customer get a termination email?
Yes. A notification email fires automatically when the subscription is terminated.
What if the customer already paid for the current period?
With termination at renewal, they keep access until the paid period ends. With immediate termination, access is cut right away and no auto-refund is issued.
